Blog Circle: Color

This month’s blog circle theme is color!  What a gorgeous palette of colors God has given us to enjoy!  I was extremely behind on this month’s theme so I took my youngest out yesterday, hello last minute, to capture some of the colors of fall.  I’m so happy I did!  She had a great time (which is rare for a photographer’s child) and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.  After you look at my images, continue on to http://www.stephanieantshel.blogspot.com/!

Blog Circle – The Beautiful Ugly

In an effort to force myself to blog and to gain some much needed motivation, I’ve joined a blog circle.  Every month, we’re given a topic to photograph.  My first month was extremely challenging to me for some reason!  The topic was finding beauty in the ugly.  I don’t own a macro lens so cool macro shots of ugly items was out of the question, and I really don’t enjoy a photograph unless it has a person in it.  That made me think of things in people that could be considered ugly but those which are also beautiful.  My favorite images were some of my daughters who had given themselves a makeover which they thought was beautiful but in reality, quite scary!  Unfortunately, I seem to have formatted my sd card before downloading them.  So I had to get creative.  Here is my loose interpretation (just to add a caveat, I don’t find any of the people I photographed to be ugly, just the things they were doing weren’t what one would term beautiful!):

Growing up!

I have had a great summer with my littles!  We spent two weeks at the beach and three weeks with our family in Oklahoma.  Of course, I managed to capture some of my former clients and their kids!  I really miss my OK clients but LOVE getting to catch up with them when I’m home.  This family has been coming to me since there were only two kids!  I still remember our first session with them.  I fell in love with their big, expressive eyes and sweet personalities!  Now there are three of them and that just adds to the fun.  Thanks for sticking with me over the years, A family!!

Behind on blogging

Ok, so I’ll never win blogger of the year award but that might be because I prefer pictures over words!  Hopefully, you’ll forgive my lack of blogging when you realize I always choose editing client sessions before posting a blog.  We have been on spring break around here.  My friend invited us to stay with them at the beach so we headed out and, of course, I had to squeeze in a photo session (or two) of all of our girls while we were there.  And I’m so glad I did.  The light there is magical and despite the extreme winds, we got some amazing photos.  I guess I could be called biased since these are my girls but I’m sticking to my beliefs!  Now if anyone else has a beach house and would like to invite me along on their vacation, I’m happy to offer a free photo session!!  I might just have a new business angle!!

A new brother for Jake

Jake is lucky to have a new brother so close to his age!  I’ve taken Jake’s pics since he was this big and it’s great to see him be the big brother for a change.  He was so sweet to little C.  These two little guys are definitely going to keep their Mommy on her toes!!

Dylan

Little man D was the happiest kid!  Those big beautiful eyes just draw you in.  It was so much fun playing in the creek with this little guy!  It definitely makes me long for those warmer days.
